DIY: Baby Receiving Blanket/ Baby Wrap

You can see lot's baby wrap/ baby receiving blanket,
design, brand and price varies from one another.

Most of it is made of flannel

Flannel is a soft woven fabric, of various fineness. Flannel was originally made from carded wool or worsted yarn, but is now often made from either wool, cotton, or synthetic fibre. Flannel may be brushed to create extra softness or remain unbrushed. The brushing process is a mechanical process where a fine metal brush rubs the fabric to create fine fibers from the loosely spun yarns. Typically, flannel has either a single- or double-sided nap. Double-napped flannel refers to a fabric that has been brushed on both sides. If the flannel is not napped, it gains its softness through the loosely spun yarn in its woven form. Flannel is commonly used to make tartan clothing, blankets, bed sheets, andsleepwear. (Source/Read more: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flannel)

You may find many of this packaging of receiving blanket in mom's store
(Mother care, Mom's Care & etc).

I bought this @ Jaya Jusco, Baby Kiko receiving blanket- Rm35.90

@Jaya Jusco, Pureen-RM20+ (if im not mistaken).
During Pureen Warehouse Sales it was RM16.90 only.

***P/S: Pureen Warehouse Sales will be at Summit, Petaling Jaya this coming April 2012.
It's very worth it to go. But get ready for the crowd.

Normally, the blanket (size: 30 x 30 inch) comes with hood.

2 is never enough. It's always good to have extra blankets.

Save more & DIY with flannel.
and I decided to buy flannel (sell per meter) at textile shop
(Nagoya/Kamdar. I couldn't find in Jakel)

and it's just RM5.50 per meter!
(way much cheaper & you can get many design).

Bak kata org; kalau baby muntah/ kotor, tukar aje yg baru. Belambak! ;p

It's 1m x 1 m (blanket sell at store: normal size: 30 x 30 inch with hood)

and of course this one is without hood.
(you can always DIY hood yourself/ just get baby's head cover -the one sell with mittens set)

i bought 6m @ Nagoya, Carrefour Wangsa Maju
RM33 only :)

Plain/ printed design all same price. Rm5.50 per meter

Gonna wash it & Softlan to make it softer.

Save More & You can spend more on other's baby stuff.

Steal that Goddess look!

Spotted:
Jennifer Lopez in white dress during her pregnancy

A goddess touch.

Inspired by

Just simple & stunning,

A bit of gold details.

Steal that look!

Bought this (in 2009) dress (jersey material) at boutique @ Bangsar, just RM89.90
Wore it only twice for photo shoot.

Oh, yes, it is also reviewed by Shopping Roll blog

(i thought i want to sell it)

and I thought ill never wear it again,
till 2012! when I was 7 months pregnant?

Guess, what's different?

I asked my tailor to add a double layer chiffon sleeve.

Tadaaa! Here's my "new" dress

matched it with snake skin clutch from Little Black Book, RM15 only.

Never throw away your dresses, you can give it a new & fresh look :)

Red vs Blue?

Red & Blue can never go wrong.

Instead of plain blue, let's spice it up!

with red!

Look what mummy have today.

Navy blue dress. Very comfy!
Just Rm55 from boutique @ Wangsa Walk

and a red cardigan from boutique @ Wangsa Walk too.
Just RM 39.90

stretchable material. I'm 8 months now.

Who said pregnant is boring?
I still prefer dresses/ loose top from non-maternity wear.

So that, we can still wear it even after our pregnancy.

:)
